What authenticator does AppFolio use? ›

You'll need an authenticator app on your phone, (e.g. Authy). Use Authy on your phone to scan the QR code. You can also enter the authentication code manually in-app.

When logged into your Online Portal by AppFolio account, scroll down the left-hand navigation bar and click on “Account Profile.” Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Under Two Factor Authentication, click “Enable Two Factor Authentication” and click “Save.”

Can I turn off two-factor authentication? ›

If you updated to two-factor authentication inadvertently, you can turn it off within two weeks of enrollment. If you do, your account is less secure and you can't use features that require a higher level of security.

eChecks, or electronic checks, offer a convenient way for tenants to pay rent online, however the processing of an electronic payment is never free, this is the reason why AppFolio started charging $2.49 per transaction for all electronic check (eCheck) payments on July 31, 2023.
