The Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currentlyclosed. Pre-applications were lastaccepted from September 21, 201, until September 25, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
To apply during the opening period, applicants were required tocomplete the online pre-application.
This waiting list hadthe following preferences:
- Insufficient Funding
- Any family that has been terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding. (50 Points)
- Involuntarily Displaced
- Families involuntarily displaceddue to natural disaster or government action. (40 Points)
- Supportive Housing
- Families must be referred by the TLCHB and meet the criteria as defined above. Limited to up to 60 vouchers. (30 Points)
Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences
According to the public notice, "LMHA may choose to limit the number of applicants accepted through the lottery process and those applicants not randomly chosen will be discarded." It also said that, "After September 25, 2019 the waiting list will remain open to special programs only. These applications are accepted via a referral process only."
